Horseshoe magnet Alnico 80x60x15mm

The horseshoe magnet we offer is a unique specimen, measuring 80 mm x 60 mm x 15 mm and featuring a striking red-green finish. The north pole is located at the red end, giving this magnet a special characteristic. Before shipping, this horseshoe magnet is carefully packaged, with the poles short-circuited with a yoke for optimal protection.

Unlike most magnets on our website, which are made of NdFeB (neodymium-iron-boron), this horseshoe magnet is made of AlNiCo (aluminum-nickel-cobalt-iron), a material with unique properties. AlNiCo is especially suitable for horseshoe magnets because of its reduced brittleness and remarkable heat resistance up to approximately 450 degrees Celsius. Although AlNiCo is about eight times weaker than NdFeB, it remains significantly stronger than a ferrite magnet, such as those used in refrigerator magnets. It is important to note that a horseshoe-shaped NdFeB magnet would be too fragile and is therefore not produced this way.
